Founded in 1982, the Colombo International School (CIS) is an English medium co-educational day school with separate Infant, Junior and Secondary sections. The Colombo branch is centrally located in Cinnamon Gardens with an enrolment of 1400 students. The Kandy branch was opened in 1998 is situated in Mawilmada, Kandy. CIS Kandy currently has 600 students on roll with plans to expand student numbers to 800 in the future.

CIS has established a fine academic record with a curriculum based on the British GCSE/GCE O, AS and A2 Level qualifications. It is proud of its extra-curricular programme which offers a full range of sports, drama, music, social service and other activities. The school is justly proud of its excellent facilities, offering our students the very best in modern equipment and technology. The school is lead by Principal Andrew Fowler-Watt together with an academic staff of over 200 fully qualified and experienced Sri Lankan and expatriate teachers.
